“YOU CAN’T RIGHT CLICK HERE !!!”
“SORRY..COPY PASTING IS DISABLED !!!”
“RIGHT CLICK IS DISABLED !!
A practice that seems to be brought back to life since the late 2006’s – disabling copy pasting is making a comeback in various websites. In this post we will explore 3 reasons for why it sucks and it makes your website look kind of noobish (stupid).
Users get annoyed
Information sharing, copy-pasting and “drag and dropping” are what fuels the internet. Practically not allowing your visitors to copy, paste and reference a piece of written “divinity” as the one your website contains seems messed up. Besides, anyone with a bit of common sense knows that they can literally open your website and a text file next to it and type away; you don’t make people stop doing it,! They still will, but with a pinch of annoyance.
You don’t seem transparent and open.
The age of information “retention” is over, and you should get over it. Most contents of your website are available elsewhere and can be easily copied.
Nobody likes a smartass.
Enabling this option is a matter of a click for a website owner, and obviously there are many ways of undoing the whole copy pasting is blocked.
Anyways, besides ranting off and screaming why things are crappy and just leaving it there, I thought I will give you a hidden gem (not really) on how to unblock the copy pasting blocker. yay!
